Medical Illustrations
I developed interactive illustrations for class 9 Biology book by Selina Publications (ICSE Board). Problem faced: There are very few illustrations in the existing book and more text Also, the existing ones are boring to students, and difficult to memorise The proposed idea was to make these illustrations and diagrams interactive

Process
It started with researching about various medical terms, and already existing interactive illustrations. Then, I made pencil sketches, related each element with one easy term and there it was the interactive illustrations were ready.
Ideations
![]() Cytoplasm is jelly like, translucent and semi liquid. This has been shown through droplets on the illustration. Chemical reactions take place in the cytoplasm, hence a beaker with reactions taking place has been illustrated. | ![]() Chloroplasts produce food for plant cells.Hence, it is illustrated as the kitchen of the plant cell. | ![]() Mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell which releases energy in the form of ATP: Adinosine triphosphate molecules. Hence it has been illustrated as the, “Bahubali” of the cell | ![]() Nucleus is the brain of the cell. Hence, it has been illustrated as a bulb with ideas, and light generating within it |

![]() Golgi Bodies are the delivery system of the cells. Hence they are illustrated as delivery trucks carrying goods | ![]() Lysosomes have the ability to destroy foreign bodies as well as destroy themselves. Hence, they are known as, “Suicide Bags”. | ![]() Endoplasmic reticulum act as pathways for distribution. Hence, they are illustrated as streets/roads | ![]() Ribosomes are the sites for protein synthestis. Hence, they are illustrated as factories of the cell. |
![]() Centrioles help in cell division. Hence, they are illustrated as two people having tug of war and a cell undergoing division in between |
